I started Jewelmeup20 in 2020 as a form of rehab. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in December 2019. Because of this diagnosis, I have nerve damage on my legs, feet, hands, and arms. Multiple Sclerosis causes Optic Neuritis which then affects my vision from time to time. I first started my small company with just bracelets; just as a form of keeping my creative flow going as well as helping to re-learn how to use my fine motor skills again. I had advertised to family and friends that I would be selling the bracelets to help pay for the numerous medical bills that comes along with having an auto-immune disease. As my fine motor skills got better, I started working with smaller beads, and that's how I got the idea for waist beads. I had done my research before-hand about the culture and history behind them, and I fell in love. Since then, I've also incorporated earrings, anklets, candles, essential oils, and much more! This has now become my full time job and I thank everyone who has supported and continues to support me on this journey.
